Council had a need to implement a robust and sound financial budget and reporting system.
Following an intense quotation and evaluation process, we chose Chameleon Technology, not just based on price, but based on their being able to demonstrate an understanding of local government more than the competitors
What we did find though was that they also went above and beyond to ensure that our implementation of the software met our expectations, including assisting us in developing some additional in-house requirements that were not part of their off-the-shelf product. The customise solution allows us to process and track bids for projects as part of our annual budget process and has met all of our expectations.
During deliberations for the product all of the manager involved in viewing the short listed products unanimously agreed that Chameleon was the obvious choice for us.
We are now looking to use the product more and more to address some of our special requirements.
Chameleon's help desk and response line has been very capable and quick at helping us to resolve any issues that may have arisen.

The implementation of Powerbudget at our Council has provided a number of productivity gains and process improvement.
The intuitive and user friendly structure of the system has significantly helped our budget managers to navigate through, and better understand our financial data which in turn has enabled them to provide clearer feedback on their individual budgeting and reporting needs which again facilitates efficiency gains and ultimately more effective service delivery. Also with Powerbudget the change management process was a breeze.

I was blown away and wanted to know why we didn’t have it sooner
I installed PowerBudget on the Parks Engineers machine yesterday and gave about 1 hours face to face training.
I was blown away and wanted to know why we didn’t have it sooner. It will save him 2 to 3 hours a week in his analysis of his financial position. He shook my hand when I went to leave. It has been very well received in the entire Engineering Division.

I am very happy with the performance and acceptance of PowerBudget as the primary tool for our Management Reporting
Just to re-iterate my earlier comments made on the phone, I am very happy with the performance and acceptance of PowerBudget as the primary tool for our Management Reporting both in the context of our Annual Budget preparation and subsequent monthly reporting to Council. The package has been rolled out to the organisation and it has a high level of user acceptance which we can judge by the automatic addition of the application to our Manager's and Team Leader's credentials as soon as they are given access to our corporate systems at the City of Whittlesea.
We have just completed the rates Brochure and media releases to complement the Budget document and this process was streamlined by the use of Power Trees which allowed us to translate the budget allocations against ledger accounts into the Key Strategic Activities contained in our Community Plan. Previously this involved the preparation of Excel spreadsheets and cumbersome linking and re-totalling of individual budgets. The risk in this was always that there was a lack of continuity between financial years as the exercise was conducted at the death knock with a very small window to validate and compare.
Power Trees has allowed us to create the link between the ledger and these Key Strategic Activities in a robust and timely manner which increases the confidence in the analysis provided to our Marketing Department and in turn to the Community. It is now an instant process instead of a time consuming and stressful one, exactly the outcome we sought from PowerBudget.

We released the new PowerBudget reporting functionality to all users yesterday, and so far things are going very well. I'm sure we'll continue to talk to you as the need arises, but for the moment, I just wanted to thank each of you for your efforts that have resulted in a very smooth implementation. Thanks in particular to Shane for being very responsive and always delivering high quality work, and to Peter for doing a terrific job with the training. There was lots of positive feedback from those that attended training, and most people think PowerBudget is a huge improvement on Finance Web which they've used to date.
